Apurba wins project to build a context sensitive narrative from patients’ medical records

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 7th, 2015 – Apurba wins a project to build a next-generation platform that reveals the story hidden in each patient’s medical records by producing an individualized narrative relevant to the clinical decision at hand.

This platform will use the power of Big Data Analytics and NLP to build contextualized domain-specific models for each disease state and then exploit that model to build a relevant summary for a patient with respect to a visit to a doctor or medical practitioner based on the patient’s electronic health records. For example, a patient’s ER visit for any given medical reason will produce a summary of the patient’s medical history as it is related to the issue at hand: presenting the doctors a clear, precise and above all, a relevant roadmap of the patient’s past history. A general practitioner, when seeing the patient making a routine visit, will be presented with a very different summary of the patient’s past medical history.
